Is MindMovie.com Crap?
My aim is not to rubbish MindMovie.com's inspirational video creation software. I'm quite a cautious shopper and today (10 April 2011) I just bought it after much dithering. Here's a brief personal perspective on the service. If I've been too quick to judge, then please let me know.

What's in the name MindMovieCrap?
My favourite tactic for finding the dirt about a new service on the web is to type the name of the service in my search engine followed by the word "crap". That way I can find out what competitors, crazies and disappointed consumers have said about it. So really this page should be called "MindMovie Crap?"

Target Audience
The target purchaser is someone who believes in The Law of Attraction. If you don't then you're not going to want to create an inspiration video for yourself, if you do and have $77.00 to invest, this may be the start of something great. The promotional videos available at mindmovies.com are honest. You get a very slick web based software package which allows you to drag and drop images into a timeline. From there you can add captions, adjust the timings of the frames and add music. Before you can view the movie it must be rendered. This takes some minutes. Once that's done you can download it to your computer or upload it to Facebook or Youtube. There's a wide selection of clip art to choose from and I've just done a short test move; it all worked very well.

There's lots to like about the service. The way it's promoted is fairly hard-sell and this made me a bit wary. But it did deliver what it promised, so I'm very pleasantly surprised.

Tips
• Here's the cheapest link I could find for buying the service, the discount price is $77.00. (This is the link http://www.mindmovies.com/mm21/order1i-special77.php)
• You're going to need to think through what you want to say in your inspirational video. The course includes this worksheet to help you organise your thoughts.
• As soon as you buy this product set a date in your computer's calendar for 25 days time to remind you cancel the monthly recurring membership of the subliminal success software. If you don't you'll get a monthly charge ($33?) on your card for this software.
• Once you've entered your card details to buy the MindMovie service you'll be pushed on to an interminable set of pages offering you extra services. Each service will add an extra charge on your card IF you choose to add it.

- I know it all sounds so hard sell and slimy. All I can say so far is that the advertised core service works and works well. That's an achievement for any web based service. It really is a convenient way for general web users to build a mind move like the samples available on YouTube.

Cheapskates
And here's the tip for people with some stomach for experimentation. If you have Powerpoint, OpenOffice's Impress (free) or Apple Keynote you can build you own inspirational video for free. Here's what you'll need to do:
1. Use Youtube to view other peoples' inspirational movies. Get an idea for the subject matter (gas guzzlers, desert islands, swimming pools of dollars and inner peace), images that work, phrases used, music and phrases used.
2. Use the worksheet provided by MindMovies.com to put together you own ideas. The aim is to have a movie that's about 2 minutes long with 30 pictures in it.
3. Locate the music you want to use. If you use your search engine you'll find services that can strip off the audio portion of any Youtube video and make it into an MP3.
4. Get to grips with the presentation software of your choice. Paste in photos from your own photo collection and images from the web. Add the music and type in the phrases.
It takes time to get material that you like and then more time to get the pacing of the video right. The more time you put in, the better it will be.

Conclusion
This product has some very well known endorsers. I've bought it and it works, so it's not a scam. Phew!

there is lots of hard sell for additional products and programmes. If you don't find this offensive and manage not to be tempted by the extras you've got yourself a good product at reasonable price.
